Education is a very vital tool for national progress, human empowerment and social change. Our universities have the capability to shape the minds of the youth. These temples of higher learning attempt to act as the guide in meeting the contemprorary moral challenges and to ensure that our civilizational values are fully entrenched in the young minds.


Himachal Pradesh University, established in 1970 as a state university has made its mark as an important centre for higher education in Northern Region Ranked as on A Grade University by NAAC in 2016. 31 Departments, 05 Specialized Centres, 333 Affiliated Colleges and an International Centre for Distance Education & Open Learning (ICDEOL) underline the expansion of this university’s educational programme. The university has introduced Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) at undergraduate level in 2014 to act as a medium of knowledge convergence.


The famous poet, William Butler Yeats had said “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire”. Through our experienced and dedicated faculty, we endeavour to shape the thoughts of young minds and elevate them to a higher level of performance and thinking. Through more and more use of technology, we are striving towards a more efficient academic and administrative environment.
