Elections to the Students Central Association are conducted in the month of August every  year.Direct elections of SCA were previously banned due to violent incidences in the campus and presently nomination based SCA is being formed.

This includes:

1. Preparation of voter list
2. Receipt of nomination papers
3. Display of names of contestants and printing of ballot papers
4. Appointments of presiding officers and issuance of guidelines/instructions for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections. 

The Dean Students’ Welfare functions as Returning Officer for the elections. The Dean Students’ Welfare is also Principal adviser to the Students Central Association. The meetings of the Students Central Association are conducted under his Chairmanship. For the welfare of the students, lectures of eminent scholars, from all over the country on different subjects are arranged from time to time.
