The main events and activities carried out by the department include weekly seminars by the students, research scholars and faculty members. Extension and special lectures by the invited faculty from other universities and institutions were delivered. Apart from this the seminars, conferences, workshops and colloquiums have been organized by the department in collaboration with UGC HRD Centre in the University campus. A large number of students of the department have qualified UGC JRF, NET, Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship and ICSSR fellowships. One visually impaired and one tribal girl qualified the UGC JRF even before completing their PG degrees.
Eminent Alumni
It is a matter of great honour for the department that one of its former student Mr. Hamid Karzai held the office of Hon’ble President of Afghanistan.
Another student of the department Mr. J.P. Nadda is holding the office of the Union Health Minister in the government of India presently.
CENTRE
The Department of Political Science has the honour to have run the UGC sponsored Nehru Study Centre from 2000 to 2007.
FACILITIES
Department has one smart classroom, reading room and internet facility.
PLACEMENT
Recently a large number of students of the department have been placed as Assistant Professors in government colleges.
