Prof. D R Thakur (MSc., PhD, DHE, MJMC) is presently working as Sr. Professor in department of Biosciences, Himachal Pradesh University, Summerhill, Shimla, HP. He joined HP University in 2001 after serving as Lecture in Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of HP for about seven years. D R Thakur, has served as Chairman Dept. of Biosciences & Director, International Students’ Welfare, of the University and presently holding the responsibility as Director Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre and Dean Faculty of Life Sciences, Himachal Pradesh University, Summerhill, Shimla. He has guided two Post Doctorate Fellows, Nine Ph D, and thirty seven M.Phil students. He has completed four Research Projects of different granting agencies and published hundred and seventy eight research papers of national and international repute. He is Member editorial and referee of many national and International research journals. D R Thakur has also served as Warden for about 12 years, President, Himachal Pradesh University Biological Society (HUBS), President Himachal Pradesh University Teachers’ Welfare Association, General Secretary, Himachal Pradesh University, Alumni Association and Institutional Animal Ethics Committee of the University and presently Chairman of the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee. He is life members of many national and International academic bodies and visited South Africa, New Zealand, Thailand, Portugal, Greece, Canada and Germany in context with academic activities. He has delivered many invited talks & key notes in national and International conferences, seminars and symposia. He is member expert of State Wetland Authority, HIMCOSTE, Govt. of HP, Member Task Force, MOEF&CC, Govt. of India, and Member Expert, Evaluator, Examiner, Research Advisor, subject expert of various selection committee in state and central universities and Moderator of many Academic bodies and State Public Service Commissions. D R Thakur has served as Chairman of many committees, constituted by HP Private Educational Regulatory Commission for Examination reforms, allocations of courses & PhD students and evaluation of eligibility of the faculty members to be the guide of PhD students as per UGC norms etc. for all private universities in the jurisdiction of Himachal Pradesh. He has served as Chairman of the State Focus Group for development of Curriculum on Environment Science for State Curriculum Frame Work under National Education Policy (NEP- 2020) through SCERT, Himachal Pradesh. He has been awarded six Prizes and Awards by different agencies and societies. D R Thakur has been publishing on many current issues of public concern in regional and national news papers and has published thirteen new and first records from India and pioneer to compile the breeding of some migratory ducks and faunal diversity of a High Altitude Wetland, “Chandertal” a Ramsar Site in Trans Himalayas. |

Dr. Ashwani Kumar was born on 07th March, 1985. He has completed his M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Jammu. He is presently working as Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology in Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. He also holds the additional responsibility of Assistant Director, UGC-HRDC, H.P. University, Shimla. He has earlier served as Assistant Professor (contractual) in Sociology at Reasi Campus, University of Jammu; Consultant, Centre for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (J&K IMPARD) and Assistant Professor in Sociology, Government Degree College Samba. He has 11 publications to his credit that includes UGC Care listed and Scopus Indexed Journals. He has attended 15 Conferences/Seminars/Workshops/FDP’s. He has completed two research projects and is a life member of national associations like Indian Sociological Society and North-West Indian Sociological Association. |
