It gives me immense pleasure to know that Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla is striving hard to have a system of quality learning which is more relevant in present context. In its new initiative, the University has taken new teaching and research techniques to nurture the talent of the students, which is a welcome step.
With the introduction of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan(RUSA) with Choice Based Credit System(CBCS), the University intends to promote advanced learning through teaching, research and extensions programmes. The introduction of teachers evaluation by students, the students Charter comprising students duties and responsibilities are among the new enterprises of the institution that will go a long way to hone the budding talent in the University and its affiliating colleges.
I am happy to learn that the University has added many more activities in the recent years including its own Kulgeet, Morning Mangaldhwani besides organising functions on the Republic Day and the Independence Day every year to pay homage to martyrs and freedom fighters. This kind of environment undoubtedly helps in creating an environment that inspires the younger generation.
I am sure that the University will achieve its objective of disseminating quality higher education particularly to the students of the remote and tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh.
