Faculty of Engineering and Technology- A Profile

Faculty of Engineering and Technology, HP University has been established with a motive to accomplish highest standards of academic and technological excellence in engineering and technical education to meet the real time global challenges through highly talented and committed human resource with social and human values driven by the spirit of innovation and constantly upgrading skill /enriched knowledge. Every year 150 students, admitted through All India Entrance Test conducted by HP University as per AICTE norms to 4 year degree courses are offered B. Tech. Degrees in Information Technology (IT) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE). The budding engineering professionals are trained and nurtured through an updated and demand driven modern curriculum designed at par with national and international curricula by the eminent academicians from prestigious technical institutions as members of Board of Studies. The state-of-the-art infrastructure consisting of well equipped laboratories of computer, IT, Electronics and others, Lecture halls, Smart classrooms, Departmental Library besides hi-ended internet and Wi-Fi facilities provide an inspiring, vibrant, stimulating and exciting learning environment to fulfill the study aspirations of engineering students. The strong academic input of the competent and devoted faculty members accompanied by hands-on training to individual students through live projects conducted by students hones their technical skills and minor and major industrial trainings as a part of curriculum help to develop intellectual abilities. Every student is required to take active part in seminars, group discussions, meet-ups, projects, sports, language proficiency, personality and other confidence building activities which help sharpen their creative and innovative skills and thus prepares them for solving technical problems. Faculty of Engineering & Technology is committed to make sincere efforts to place a maximum number of graduates in reputed organizations, through on-campus as well as off-campus placements -an integral part of any professional course which speaks volumes about enduring commitment, outstanding faculty and the ready-to-work professionals generated by the University nurtured in its rich learning environment. The academic output of the faculty has been commendable as it has produced successful professionals occupying prestigious positions as devoted engineers, administrators, researchers, teachers, bankers and successful entrepreneurs etc. in India and abroad. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology has taken many initiatives in University such as the Computerization of Examination Wing, LAN Connectivity of University Campus and Campus Wide Optical Fibre Network (CWOFN) connectivity via National Knowledge Network (NKN) and various other successful projects within University including Administration, Student Welfare and others with appreciation from all quarters. The framing of Bachelor of Vocational (B. Voc.) courses to be run in Government Colleges as per the guidelines of National Skill Development Council (NSDC) and Sector Skills Council (SSC) has recently been initiated by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and many more initiatives as per the demand of private/ public sector are also likely to be successfully launched soon.
