Chief Warden
 

Himachal Pradesh University maintains THIRTEEN hostels; FOUR for boys and NINE for girls. These provide accommodation to approx. 972 Girls and 567 Boys students. The hostel administration has following levels; Chief Warden, Additional Chief Warden and Warden.

The Chief Warden will make arrangements for the residence, mess, supervision and discipline of students residing in the University hostels or any other duty assigned to him by the Vice-Chancellor.  He is the drawing and disbursement officer in respect of hostels. He is also responsible for the smooth functioning of the hostels and allocation of available accommodation/seats to the students in consultation with the Additional Chief Warden and Wardens in accordance with the rules. Additional Chief Warden (female) will look after the routine work of girls’ hostels and assists the Chief Warden.

Hostels have facilities of Mess, Internet connectivity through Wi-Fi and LAN, Common Room equipped with LED TV, current magazines, newspapers and Indoor games. A Dining aHall is maintained hegienicaaly HHall is maintained hygienically for boarders to enjoy their meals. The boarders are given representation through various committees of the hostel in managing routine affairs. The Warden alongwith different committee(s) maintain discipline, academic and peaceful atmosphere in the hostel. Besides, all hostels are under CCTV surveillance 24x7.

The security issue(s) in Hostels is the responsibility of Chief Security Officer and Hostel Maintenance is the responsibility of Executive Engineer (Construction and Maintenance) of the University.
